Influencing for Good
At Benefact Group we know it takes many voices to make a great conversation and believe we have an opportunity and responsibility to use our influence to make the world a better place.
We can inspire through our purpose. We can bring people together to accelerate change. And we can multiply the positive difference we can make in the world through our giving.
What it takes: civic leadership in the UK today
Charities are telling us that civil society is more strained and pressured than ever before. So we launched a new survey, asking charity and civil society leaders what they thought of the state of leadership and collaboration.
The findings are stark:
- Leadership in the sector is getting harder with no signs of letting up – ¾ of respondents find charity leadership harder now than three years ago
- Collaboration isn’t working – only 8% think charities, businesses, public bodies and communities are ‘very’ or ‘extremely’ effective at working together
- Charities know what’s needed to enable them to strengthen society: flexible, unrestricted funding, wider support and better collaboration
- And they need to be trusted.
We’re sharing these results to shed light on the issue.
